Fluoride & Heavy Metals Reduction Tank - PO-400F
The Fluoride & Heavy Metal Reduction Compound will reduce the fluoride added by municipalities by 95% to safe, undetectable levels. This media will also continue to reduce inorganic heavy metals such as:
- Antimony (Sb)
- Arsenic (As)
- Bismuth (Bi)
- Chromium, Hexavalent (Cr6)
- Cobalt (Co)
- Lead (Pb)
- Mercury (Hg)
- Silver (Ag)
- Zirconium (Zr)
Take Steps to Avoid Harmful Fluoride
It's in our toothpaste, at our dentist's office, and for most of us, it's in our tap water. Contrary to what we've been told, man-made fluoride is NOT good for us. It can lead to fluorosis (weakened and stained teeth), as well as more serious conditions like: arthritis, lowered thyroid function, lowered IQ, dementia, disrupted immune system, genetic damage, cancers, and lower life expectancy. Of course, living in an area whose water supply is not fluoridated is the best way to avoid most fluoride. However, since 70% of America's water supplies are fluoridated, home filtration is the next best thing.

Fluoride and Heavy Metals can be in our water. Although most risk assessment studies involve ingestion, there are strong indications that skin absorption may contribute to the overall exposure to these inorganic compounds. The Fluoride & Heavy Metals Reduction Whole House System is designed to help reduce this risk.
The PO-400F tank is ideal for both municipal and well water. For municipal water it will provide you with clean fluoride-free water for both drinking and bathing. For well water it will protect you and your family from potentially dangerous heavy metals that may be in your well. A well test is beneficial for determining your water quality. However, for some customers, costly testing can be redundant. After all, you may not know what’s in your water, but after installing our filter, you’ll know what isn’t.
The Fluoride & Heavy Metals Reduction Compound, although effective, does not share the same life (capacity) as our Aquaspace Compound, and as such we offer the stand alone system, which can be replaced independently to our VOC Reduction Aquaspace Whole House unit. See table below.
Are they more convenient?
100%. It’s clear POE systems are your best defense against waterborne chemicals and gases that can escape into your air AND for clean drinking and bathing water. But not only do they offer you a cleaner air quality, they also offer you convenience. Imagine clean water from any source in your home. No more having to walk all the way down to the kitchen for a clean drink of water. Any faucet in your house can offer you the same clean, fluoride-free water. Showering and bathing will never be the same! The water you use for brushing your teeth, washing your hands and face, even the water you use for your pets will be clean and healthy. You won't have to worry about what's in your water any longer.
What about installation or replacements?
All our Polaris Whole House Systems come with installation and instruction sheets. They come equipped with an automatic valve pre-programmed to backwash your unit, ensuring the quality of the filtration media will last. You will also need to have access to a drain line, so that during the backwash stage sediment build up can be flushed out of the unit.
Our tanks also require a professional plumber for installation. We highly recommend coordinating with your local plumbing company to do the installation, and to determine any additional costs for labor that may be involved in servicing the tanks.
All our tanks come with a rated time and gallon capacity. For PO-400F tanks the lifespan is 6-9 months or 120,000* gallons. We typically say its best to replace the media on a semi-annual basis to ensure optimum water quality. The valves on top of the tanks will also come with a gallon-tracker to track how many gallons of water you’ve used to help determine when you need to reorder replacement media.
Replacement media kits are available and are determined by the size of the tank. Replacing the media does not require a professional plumber, however we recommend having someone with general handyman skills available to do the replacement. A set of detailed instructions will be provided.
A Valve-in-Head Post Sediment Filter is also highly recommended with installation of any Fluoride Reduction or Aquaspace Whole Home System. This is used as a “polishing” filter to be installed after the tank to ensure no media enters your household plumbing at any point during water usage. See Model AP-100-4N1 here.

Investment in your health and your home.
Whole house water filters are the most efficient form of water filtration and when compared to the cost per gallon of clean water, the most economical. For example, our Polaris IV fluoride tank will give you 120,000 gallons of clean water. That comes out to $0.01 per gallon! Not only are whole house filters a great investment in your health, they are a great investment in your home. A whole house water filter adds to the value of your home. In fact, Forbes magazine called adding a home water filtration system a “serious game changer” and will “increase your home’s value and impress buyers with filtered water directly from any faucet in the house — it’s pure luxury, and this amenity will pay off now and in the future when it’s time to sell.”
