Fluoride and Heavy Metal Reduction
The Fluoride & Heavy Metal Reduction Compound has been designed to reduce the fluoride added by municipalities to safe undetectable levels. The Compound incorporates Activated Alumina and Bone Char to effectively remove the Fluoride added by treatment facilities.
Research studies have shown that activated alumina has a high potential for fluoride uptake and requires minimum contact time for maximum defluoridation. It's use in a continuous flow fluidized system is the most economical and efficient method for defluoridating water supplies. Bone Char was also used as one of the first methods for defluoridation of water supplies and has superior qualities as a defluoridating agent. Together with Activated Alumina, these compounds are the best available technology for fluoride removal in the industry.
Put simply, fluoride is a difficult contaminant to remove. The EPA's Maximum Contamination Limit of 4 mg/L varies from its unenforceable "recommended" Contamination Limit of 2 mg/L, therefore leaving it up to the local governments to decide on fluoridation levels.
In addition, the variables for removal are much greater than most other contaminants. For example, pH level, temperature, hardness, flow rate, and level of concentration, and the presence of silica and boron, all factor in to its removal rate. As such, the Fluoride & Heavy Metals Reduction compound will at a minimum reduce Fluoride by 70% and up to 95% depending on the above factors. The majority of Fluoride removal research studies conducted indicate Activated Alumina as the best available method for removing municipal fluoride. Our Fluoride Compound was developed with this in mind and will reduce Fluoride to safe levels for consumption.
In addition to Fluoride reduction the compound will continue to reduce inorganic heavy metals such as:
- Antimony (Sb)
- Arsenic (As)
- Bismuth (Bi)
- Chromium, Hexavalent (Cr6)
- Cobalt (Co)
- Lead (Pb)
- Mercury (Hg)
- Silver (Ag)
- Zirconium (Zr)Lead

The Issue of Municipal Fluoride
It's in our toothpaste, at our dentist's office, and for most of us, it's in our tap water. Contrary to what we've been told, man-made fluoride is NOT good for us. It can lead to fluoridosis (weakened and stained teeth), as well as more serious conditions like: arthritis, lowered thyroid function, lowered IQ, dementia, disrupted immune system, genetic damage, cancers, and lower life expectancy. Of course, living in an area whose water supply is not fluoridated is the best way to avoid most fluoride. However, since 70% of America's water supplies are fluoridated, home filtration is the next best thing.
