The Survivor Bottle works great on any suspect fresh water source within the U.S., to give you clean, great-tasting water. The Survivor Bottle is excellent in the event of a flood, hurricane, earthquake, or other natural disaster. It’s essential for any prepper or bug-out bag to ensure you have access to clean water in the event of an emergency.
Why the Survivor is Right for You!
The Aquaspace Survivor is your best option for clean, healthy drinking water on the go. It works everywhere: at home, at work, or in the great outdoors! The Survivor is the perfect travel water bottle for hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and other outdoor related activities. It works well on municipal water, tap water, well water, and from naturally occurring sources of water.
After a flood, earthquake, hurricane, or other natural disaster, the Survivor is perfect for ensuring you have clean, safe drinking water. The CDC warns that "after an emergency, particularly flooding, damage can occur to drinking water wells and lead to aquifer and well contamination." The Survivor is the best defense against a suspect water supply that may have been impacted by a natural disaster. The Survivor is a great option for ensuring you have safe, reliable drinking water when you need it most.
The Survivor will effectively remove a wide variety of contaminants commonly found in contaminated tap water, rivers, streams, lakes, and other naturally occurring water sources. The Survivor packs two proprietary and patented forms of technology into one water bottle filter.
1. Aquaspace® Compound
The Aquaspace® Compound is a patented blend of charge modified activated carbon created using NASA technology, and designed to filter out organic and inorganic chemicals without lowering the pH value of the water and without removing essential minerals like calcium and magnesium. It has been tested and certified by the National Testing Laboratories according to ANSI/NSF Standards for the reduction of:
- Taste, Odor, Color
- Gases such as Radon
- Organic Halides
- Industrial Solvents
- And 55 of the most common VOCs
2. Microbial Hollow Fiber
The microbial hollow fiber is a proprietary patent pending technology intended for use on microbiological impurities. The hollow fiber works to effectively remove 99.9% of bacteria, parasites such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia, and cysts from the water. It is certified under NSF P231 performance standard for microbiological purifiers, a performance standard that requires a strenuous product testing to verify that the water filter can convert microbiologically compromised water into safe drinking water.
The P231 certification is generally required by organizations such as schools, restaurants, military bases, and food processing plants for the highest level of drinking water quality.
How to Use the Survivor
The Survivor Water Filter is easy to use and easy to set up. There are 5 simple steps to using your Survivor for the first time:
- Fill the bottle up completely with cold tap water and squeeze all the water through.
- Repeat step 1.
- Fill the bottle up completely for a third time and let the filter soak for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, squeeze the water through once more.
- That’s it! Your filter is ready to be used.
Where can I use the Survivor water bottle?
The Survivor can be used on any municipal or well water system. Water from faucets, taps, spigots, or fountains from residential or public facilities is ok to use. In addition, the Survivor can be used on naturally occurring sources of water such as a stream, river, lake, pond, spring, or other source of water.
What type of water does the Survivor not work on?
The Survivor is not meant for salt or brackish water. It is also not intended for use with hot water, or anything other than water. When using from a stream, river, or lake, ensure that no large particles of sediment are present in the water as this can cause the filter to clog prematurely. Depending on the quality of source water, and the amount of particulate or contaminates in it, the filter may last less than the 45 gallon limit. The worse the water is that you put in, the harder the filter will have to work to clean it. Running water is better for use than stagnant water.
How long does the Survivor filter last?
The filter lasts for 45 Gallons/170 Liters or approximately 3 months of regular use. The water bottle fits 20oz. of water and can be refilled 288 times.
How do I clean the water bottle and filter?
The Survivor Water Bottle may be hand washed with warm, soapy water. The Survivor filter does not need to be cleaned and will last for 45 gallons. The filter is designed to remove microscopic contaminants, not larger particles or sediment. Although the filter will remove sediment including rocks, sand, or dirt, it may cause the filter to clog prematurely. In addition, the filter and bottle should not be put in the microwave, dishwasher, or freezer.
What is the flow rate?
The Survivor Bottle Filter has been designed to give a comfortable flow rate for drinking while also allowing for the optimum contact time needed for proper filtration while the water is passing through the filter section. designed to give a comfortable flow for drinking when inverted for drinking and then applying a gentle squeeze to the bottle. This flow is not only .
What’s the difference between the Survivor and a UV light or Life Straw?
A UV light attacks microorganisms and harmful bacteria at their genetic core, altering their DNA, and eliminating their ability to reproduce, thus leaving them harmless. UV lights are highly effective at eliminating 99.99% of microorganism, or bacteria parasites and cysts.
A Life Straw uses a Hollow Fiber Membrane to trap contaminants such as parasites and bacteria in its microscopic pores. Water is able to pass through the 0.2 micron sized pores, while larger microorganisms are not.
The Survivor Water Bottle similarly uses a Hollow Fiber Membrane to remove microorganisms from contaminated water; effectively removing 99.99% of bacteria, parasites, and cysts. In addition to microbial reduction, the Survivor adds chemical reduction through the inclusion of our Aquaspace® Compound. This compound will additionally remove lead, chlorine, herbicides, pesticides, VOCs and other organic and inorganic chemicals.
