Prior to Aquaspace^®  introducing this cartridge, the only 1 micron rated GAC cartridges available, were the GAC Block type cartridges.  Block GAC cartridges typically only have a 30 cubic inches rating.  The Aquaspace^® Replacement Cartridge (AR-100) is 1 micron AND has a rating of 55 cubic inches -- almost TWICE THE CAPACITY as block GAC cartridges!
